Tall ships set sail for Hartlepool

Preparations for the Tall Ships Races 2010 in Hartlepool have been boosted by the news that 60 ships have now signed up for the spectacular event. The latest vessels to confirm are the Iskra ORP from Poland, one of the larger Class A ships, and the Faramir from the UK and the Zenobe Gramme from Belgium, both smaller Class C vessels. Health and safety blitz on north east building sites

HSE inspectors are to launch an intensive inspection initiative aimed at stopping dangerous practices on building sites in the North East. Magpies take stage for centenary exhibition
